The transformative education bill was signed into law in Miami for a reason, Gov. Ron DeSantis told the crowd assembled at Christopher Columbus High School in Miami.
The bill will make it possible for all students, regardless of income, to apply a voucher or tax credit to apply to private school tuition. Miami-Dade County is already an example of the transformation school choice presents. More than 70 percent of Miami-Dade students attend a school that’s outside the ZIP code where they reside, DeSantis said.
“When I was growing up, wherever you’re zoned, that’s where you went to school,” said DeSantis.
