Miami Gardens Sen. Shevrin Jones is fed up with Gov. Ron DeSantis’ continued battle with Walt Disney World.
DeSantis recently weighed raising tolls and hotel taxes to penalize Disney for speaking out against Florida’s parental rights in education law, which critics call “Don’t Say Gay.”
Jones, Florida’s first openly gay state Senator, said the Governor needs to straighten out his priorities.
“Rather than addressing the state’s housing affordability or property insurance crises, DeSantis is only focused on punishing those he disagrees with,” Jones said.
He noted that despite DeSantis’ attempts to “bully and retaliate” against Disney, “he’s been outmaneuvered.”
