Gas prices in the Sunshine State and South Florida continue declining ahead of Memorial Day weekend, as some 2.1 million Floridians prepare for road trips.
Per-gallon costs slid 31 cents in the last month, including 7 cents this past week, according to AAA The Auto Club Group.
The state average of $3.41 per gallon is more than $1 cheaper than in May 2022 and expected to trickle even lower, AAA spokesperson Mark Jenkins said.
While gas is 10-20 cents pricier in Greater Miami than most other Florida metro areas, it’s still far lower than the record high cost last year.
