Former Plantation Mayor Lynn Stoner turned herself in to Broward County officials for charges related to her time leading the only large Broward County city with a strong-Mayor form of government.
The felony charge of official misconduct along with the misdemeanor charges come on the heels of a $1,200 fine she paid for campaign finance report violations, following an Office of Inspector General report. The criminal charges stem from smoothing the way for a developer in the city and she could face up to eight years in prison.
Stoner lost her bid for re-election last year to Mayor Nick Sortal.
