Retired MTV executive Bill Roedy is running for Miami Beach’s top office.
He vows, if elected Mayor, to address crime, traffic and sea level rise.
“My life has been about taking on the toughest fights, the biggest odds and getting people to work together,” he said.
It’s the 74-year-old Independent’s first run at public office. Roedy spent decades as CEO of MTV’s international branch. He’s also a decorated veteran, having served in Vietnam and during the Cold War.
Former Democratic City Commissioners Michael Góngora, Mike Grieco and Republican Realtor David Hundley are also running to succeed term-limited Mayor Dan Gelber.
