Republican Andrew Gutmann’s first run for elected office is ultimately a bid to unseat six-term Democratic U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, and his first campaign finance report shows he’s outpaced Frankel’s donations for the same period by $73,000 with a $300,000 haul.

The recent West Palm Beach transplant from New York City who went viral after railing against his daughter’s “woke” private school, faces a long climb ahead. Gutmann will have to get by two other Republicans in the Primary and the $288,000 his campaign has shrinks in comparison to the $945,371 Frankel has on hand to defend her seat.
