Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava is about 3,000 petition signatures shy of getting on the 2024 ballot without paying a fee.
She made history in 2020, becoming the first-ever candidate for the office to qualify by petition. Now she’s close to doing it again.
“Ours has always been a people-powered campaign,” she said. “I look forward to building on our incredible momentum and making history once again.”
State election rules require mayoral candidates to submit signatures of at least 1% of a county’s registered voters. In Miami-Dade, that number is 15,294.
Levine Cava’s campaign said she’s amassed nearly 13,000.
