Donald Trump is overwhelmingly the top choice for President for Miami-Dade’s most politically engaged Republicans.
The Miami-Dade Republican Executive Committee conducted a straw poll to determine which Primary candidate the party would support.
Trump took 53 of 64 votes, an 83% share.
Gov. Ron DeSantis placed second with five votes, followed by Nikky Haley with three votes and U.S. Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart, Miami-Dade Commissioner René García and Vivek Ramaswamy with one vote apiece.
“Today’s results confirm Miami-Dade County is Trump country,” said Miami-Dade Commissioner Kevin Marino Cabrera, who recently announced his candidacy for Vice Chair of the Florida GOP.
