A stadium complex dedicated to the fast-growing sport of pickleball is coming to Fort Lauderdale.
The first-of-its-kind development, called The Fort, is set to open in late 2024. In addition to 43 professional courts, it’ll have food, beach and watersport activities, a fitness center and social and community programming offerings.
“Working on (this) public and private collaboration of The Fort has been a career highlight,” said Ellyn Bogdanoff of the lobbying firm Becker, which was part of the team that obtained approval of the project in November. “(It’s) a win for the community and a big economic impact on Fort Lauderdale.”
