Palm Beach Democratic Party Chair resigns, launches School Board campaign

The same day she resigned as Chair of the Palm Beach County Democratic Party, Mindy Koch filed to run for the School Board.

A retired teacher, Koch is running against four others to succeed School Board member Frank Barbieri.

She stepped down this month, blaming a “cancerous element” within her party in a letter to Florida Democratic Party (FDP) Chair Nikki Fried.

But according to The Floridian, Koch really left because she was facing an ouster for violating party laws and ignoring a settlement order.

Fried removed Koch from the post in March. FDP leadership reinstated her later that month.
