The Florida Panthers are two games from winning their first Stanley Cup since the team joined the National Hockey League in 1993. Better yet, the two-time reigning Eastern Conference champs are on track to secure the title of best NHL team without a single Finals loss.
The Stanley Cup Final is a best-of-seven series. If the South Florida-based Panthers score two more back-to-back wins over the Edmonton Oilers, they’ll be the first team with a Finals sweep this century.
The Detroit Red Wings last did it in 1998. There have been 20 Finals sweeps in NHL history.
Game 3 is Thursday night.
