Florida gas prices expected to be higher this Fourth of July than last year

by The 100 Companies

Florida gas prices jumped 9 cents last week, but rebounded with a 7-cent drop through the weekend, bringing the state average to $3.38 per gallon. The rebound was not enough to match gas prices last year for the Fourth of July holiday, when prices were 12 cents lower than they are now.

AAA describes gas prices as “volatile,” but said travelers should be able to avoid “any significant jumps at the pump.”

The most expensive gas is in the West Palm Beach-Boca Raton, Gainesville and Homosassa Springs areas, with the most affordable in the Crestview-Fort Walton Beach, Pensacola and Panama City markets.
