Florida residents who want to vote in the Aug. 20 Primary for partisan or nonpartisan candidates must register to do so by Monday.
That’s also the deadline for registered voters to switch their party affiliation.
South Florida Supervisors of Election are sending hundreds of thousands of mail-in ballots to county voters.
That includes 200,000 ballots Broward Supervisor Joe Scott said he’d be sending Tuesday – one-third the number of ballots requested in 2020.
Scott attributed the decline to a 2021 law that canceled preexisting vote-by-mail requests, which previously could last for multiple election cycles. It appears many voters have since forgone renewal.
