Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz wants Americans to shelve their political differences after the attempted assassination of ex-President Donald Trump.
What’s important now is unity and giving authorities support to “urgently investigate” the incident, he said.
Moskowitz penned a letter with Republican U.S. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna calling for civility among their congressional colleagues.
“The cycle of animosity and hate that has permeated our country’s political system needs to stop,” they wrote.
Moskowitz and U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz also co-sponsored legislation to honor Corey Comperatore, a former volunteer Fire Chief fatally shot at the Trump rally Saturday.
