Vice President Kamala Harris is, at least temporarily, scrapping a planned discussion of abortion this week in Palm Beach.
She was supposed to visit Tuesday, but President Joe Biden put all travel by his re-election campaign and associates on hold after an assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
Harris was to moderate a panel supporting reproductive rights, as Floridians will vote on a proposed constitutional amendment to ease government control over abortion procedures.
Gov. Ron DeSantis ratified a ban on most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy. That restriction would be undone if 60% of voters approve Amendment 4 by Nov. 5.
