Acting Secret Service Director got his first law enforcement job in Palm Beach County

Ronald Rowe, who was appointed Acting Director of the U.S. Secret Service last week, began his law enforcement career almost three decades ago in Palm Beach County.

He joined the West Palm Beach Police Department in 1995, working there until 1999, when he left for the Secret Service. Palm Beach Sheriff Ric Bradshaw was West Palm’s Police Chief while Rowe worked there and rose to the rank of Sergeant.

“He’s excellent,” Bradshaw told the Palm Beach Post, “just one of those once-in-a-lifetime guys.”

Rowe last week replaced Kimberly Cheatle, who resigned after a failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump.
