Florida’s largest LGBTQ advocacy groups have launched a get-out-the-vote effort to help Democrats regain control of the Broward County School Board.
Equality Florida Action PAC, SAVE and the Dolphin Democrats kicked off the joint endeavor this week that will include phone banks, text banks, canvassing and online programming to mobilize nearly 155,000 Broward voters.
They’re supporting District 3 incumbent Sara Leonardi, District 1 candidate Maura McCarthy Bulman and District 2 candidate Rebecca Thompson.
Bulman and Thompson are challenging incumbents Daniel Fogenholi and Torey Alson, both of whom Gov. Ron DeSantis first appointed in 2022.
Leonardi, meanwhile, faces challenger Jason Lee Loring.
