Daniella Levine Cava, Alex Otaola spar over ‘communist penetration’ claims

Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava and YouTuber Alex Otaola, one of four Republicans running against her, disagree about whether the county has been infiltrated by moneymen from dictatorial Latin American regimes.

Otaola told Florida Politics Miami-Dade has suffered “communist penetration,” with local “frontmen” funneling laundered cash back to the Cuban, Venezuelan and Nicaraguan governments.

“No one at the county (will) stop them,” he said.

That’s nonsense, Levine Cava retorted.

“While my opponent has been focused on falsely attacking my record and trying to divide our community,” she said, “I have been squarely focused on our critical challenges with real solutions.”
