Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign is recruiting Coral Springs Commissioner Nancy Metayer Bowen to spearhead voter-engagement efforts in Florida’s Caribbean communities.
The first Black and Haitian American woman on the City Commission, Metayer Bowen boasts strong credentials for the job.
She entered politics in 2011 through successive internships under Barack Obama and Bill Nelson before taking on health and relief efforts in Haiti, numerous Broward government roles and climate issues.
Today, she works in leadership for NEO Philanthropy and the National Institute for Reproductive Health.
Metayer Bowen said Harris’ campaign is “about inclusivity and making sure every community’s voice is heard.”
