Assistant Miami-Dade Police Director Rosie Cordero Stutz is adding two more big-name endorsements to her Miami-Dade Sheriff bid: U.S. Sen. Rick Scott and Florida’s senior Congressman, Mario Díaz-Balart.
Scott called Cordero-Stutz “hands-down the most qualified” candidate for the county’s top cop post. Díaz-Balart said she is “a criminal’s worst nightmare.”
Cordero-Stutz, who also carries nods from Donald Trump, U.S. Rep. Carlos Giménez and 27 current Florida Sheriffs, among others, is competing in a crowded race to become Miami-Dade’s first Sheriff since the 1960s.
She faces 10 other candidates, all law enforcement pros, in the Aug. 20 Republican Primary.
