Ex-Pinecrest Mayor Cindy Lerner is again competing in a runoff with Miami-Dade Commissioner Raquel Regalado, this time with an endorsement from a former opponent.
Regalado and Lerner respectively took 49% and 42% of the vote in the Primary for District 7, which covers Pinecrest, Key Biscayne, portions of Coral Gables, South Miami and Miami, and unincorporated Kendall and Sunset. Public schools police officer Richard Praschnik took the remainder.
To win outright, a candidate had to score more than half the vote.
Praschnik since confirmed he’s backing Lerner.
The runoff is a rematch. Regalado outpaced Lerner in 2020 by about 1%.
