Three days after he placed last in a race for his appointed Broward County School Board seat, Daniel Foganholi is bound for a loftier post on the State Board of Education – courtesy of another appointment by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis first placed Foganholi, a Republican, on the School Board in April 2022. Voters last week replaced him with Democratic lawyer Maura Bulman, who took 51% of the vote. Foganholi took 20%.
Voters also voted out another DeSantis appointee, Torey Alston.
On Friday, DeSantis’ Office announced Fogahnoli’s ascension to the State Board, which makes policy decisions about public K-12 schools and colleges.
