Winner: Gregory Tony
Many candidates celebrated victory during Florida’s Primary, but few emerged with as clear a re-election path as Tony.
While others face tough General Election fights, only independent candidate Charles Whatley awaits Tony in November, all but guaranteeing Tony a second term leading the Sheriff’s Office.
Loser: Broward voters
Voters here also made clear they wanted nothing to do with Gov. Ron DeSantis appointee Daniel Foganholi on the Broward School Board.
Foganholi placed third out of three candidates in his District 1 race. His reward? DeSantis appointed him to the State Board of Education.
Talk about failing upward.
