Associated Industries of Florida is backing three more legislative candidates seeking open South Florida seats: Democrat Barbara Sharief and Republicans Omar Blanco and Meg Weinberger.

Each will work to help job creators and “lower costs for hardworking Floridians,” AIF President and CEO Brewster Bevis said.

Sharief, an ex-Broward Commissioner, is running to succeed Democratic Leader Lauren Book in Senate District 35.

Blanco, a Miami firefighter, hopes to replace Republican Rep. Alina García in House District 115.

Weinberger, Chair of Palm Beach Moms for Liberty, is vying for the House District 94 seat Republican Rep. Rick Roth is leaving due to term limits.
