China’s new 1,300-horsepower hypercar is here – and it’s 96% cheaper than a Bugatti

For the most part, I’ve been able to tolerate how we don’t get every car in the U.S. But now that China has a wallpaper-worthy hypercar, the FOMO is real.

The BYD YANGWANG U9 boasts four electric motors for a total output of 1,300 horsepower, enough to catapult from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds – or a smidge faster than a $5.4 million Bugatti Mistral. It also has an interior fit for a billionaire; a killer, non-derivative exterior and a lifetime warranty on the battery and electric motors.

All this for just $233,000. Maybe I need a part-time job in Shanghai.
