Months after Miami Commissioners fired her following multiple controversies, former City Attorney Victoria Méndez has joined the Miami office of law firm Shutts & Bowen as a partner.

“We are thrilled to welcome Victoria to our team,” said Alexander Tachmes, Chair of the Land Use & Zoning Practice Group to which Mendez now belongs.

Méndez joins Shutts & Bowen after more than a decade with Miami.

She came under fire last year amid reports of real estate deals involving her husband in which incapacitated seniors had their homes sold out from under them. Critics say she also made questionable decisions as City Attorney.
