Recent polling shows Democrat Joel Flores holds a significant lead over incumbent Republican Michael Barnett in the race for Palm Beach County Commission District 3.
A survey, conducted mostly last month, found Flores with 45% voter support compared to Barnett’s 30%. Twenty-four percent of respondents were undecided.
The race between Flores and Barnett, whom Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed last year, has added significance since a victory for Flores could flip the Commission back to a Democratic majority that more accurately reflects Palm Beach County’s political leanings.
Also to Flores’ advantage: a modest lead in campaign cash ahead of the General Election.
