In another win for Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo, a judge decided against hearing a lawsuit aimed at removing him from office for allegedly violating city charter restrictions by harassing local business owners.
Judge Daryl Trawick ruled that Carollo was in his “individual,” not “official,” capacity when he targeted a Little Havana nightclub and its owners.
Trawick noted his judgment could be overturned on an appeal. Plaintiffs Bill Fuller and Martin Pinilla said they’ll file one.
Earlier this month, another judge ruled Carollo’s wages couldn’t be garnished to pay a $63.5 million civil judgment the businessmen won against him last year.
