When it comes to the spooky season in Florida, no one does it better than Fort Lauderdale, according to a new analysis of the country’s 75 biggest cities and their penchant for frightful festivities.
Finance Buzz’s 2024 ranking, “America’s Best Halloweentowns,” gave the No. 9 spot to the seat of Broward County, citing its comparatively high volume of Halloween events, candy stores and costume shops.
The next-highest-placing Florida city was Orlando at No. 17.
Fort Lauderdale outpaced No. 1-ranked Toledo, Ohio, in terms of shopping and “fake” haunted house options, but lagged in “real” haunted houses, pumpkin patches and Fall-type climate.
