Donald Trump is heading into the presidential race’s home stretch with a 6-point lead over Kamala Harris in Florida, new polling figures show.
Part of that is due to Florida Republicans’ more than 1 million-voter advantage. But pollsters found it’s also because more Democrats than Republicans are voting for the other party’s candidate.
A Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy survey this month shows Trump leading Florida 49%-43%.
Seven percent of Democrats plan to vote for Trump. Just 4% of Republicans are siding with Harris.
Southeast Florida backs Harris most (53%-36%). In the Tampa Bay area, the split is 48% Trump, 42% Harris.
