Winner: Joe Saunders

Saunders is getting financial help from national Democrats.

The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is sending support to seven Democrats running for state legislative seats in Florida. Saunders will be one of those beneficiaries as he continues his bid to oust Republican Rep. Fabián Basabe in House District 108.

Loser: Residents recovering from tornadoes

Hurricane Milton may have mainly impacted Southwest and Central Florida, but the storm spawned a twister supercell as it neared land, surprising many east coast communities that were not expecting severe effects from the storm.

Several were tragically killed by those tornadoes, and recovery continues.
