Democrat Alexcia Cox will be Palm Beach County’s next State Attorney. She’s the first woman and Black person to win the job.
With in-person votes counted and mail-in ballots partially tallied, Cox had a 0.9-percentage-point lead over Republican Sam Stern, who conceded defeat.
Also running to succeed State Attorney Dave Aronberg was independent Adam Farkas, who trailed Cox by 47 points.
“Tonight’s victory represents a triumph for justice and safety,” said Cox, who over an 18-year career rose to the rank of Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney. “I’ve been committed to protecting our community and hometown with everything I have.”
