Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz is keeping his seat representing Florida’s 23rd Congressional District across parts of Broward and Palm Beach counties.
He took 53% of the vote to defeat Republican Joe Kaufman, a persistent nominee for whom victory remains elusive.
Moskowitz won in Broward by 9 percentage points. But in Palm Beach County, which composes a smaller portion of the district, Kaufman led by 5.6 points.
Kaufman was a long shot. Moskowitz entered Election Day better known to voters, with a deeper history of public service, a penchant for going viral online and a significantly larger war chest.
