Miami-Dade voters sided with a GOP presidential nominee for the first time this century, a flip with seismic implications for future cycles.
President-elect Donald Trump outpaced Vice President Kamala Harris by 11.4 percentage points in Miami-Dade. The last time a Republican presidential candidate won the county was in 1988, when George H.W. Bush beat Michael Dukakis by 11 points.
“Political scientists are going to be dissecting this election for a while,” said Hialeah Rep. Alex Rizo, Chair of the Miami-Dade GOP.
Harris won Broward by 17 points and Palm Beach by less than 1 point. Trump took Monroe by 18.
