Winner: Palm Beach County Democrats
The local party made inroads in Tuesday’s elections, defending a competitive House seat, winning several Commission seats and keeping the State Attorney’s Office in Democratic hands. It wasn’t a clean sweep, but it stopped some of the bleeding at the local level after the Republican Party overperformed in 2022.
Loser: Miami-Dade Democrats
The Miami-Dade Democratic Party wasn’t so lucky, getting shut out in county-level races for constitutional offices and failing to flip a single legislative seat, including in the House District 106 race against controversial Republican Rep. Fabián Basabe. This is officially a red county now.
