Ex-aide sues House, accuses Daryl Campbell of sexual harassment

by The 100 Companies

A former aide to Rep. Daryl Campbell is suing the House, alleging she was fired after complaining of sexual harassment by the Fort Lauderdale Democrat.

Ex-aide Athena Guice, 28, said Campbell, 38, repeatedly insisted on sharing hotel rooms during out-of-town trips. She said he was overly controlling and acted “like a jealous boyfriend.”

Guice claims she was officially fired last year for sharing “confidential information” about legislation Campbell planned to file, but that her termination really resulted from her speaking to other aides and lawmakers about Campbell’s alleged behavior.

She’s seeking back wages, $50,001 in compensatory damages and attorney fees.
