North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme is sticking around.
Desulme won a runoff with 68% of the vote, outpacing Héctor Medina by 2,010 votes to keep the job his City Council colleagues appointed him to two years ago.
“My campaign’s message and … vision for the city’s future really resonated with voters,” he told Florida Politics.
Desulme, who was appointed Mayor in December 2022 to replace Philippe Bien-Aime, ran on a platform prioritizing responsible budgeting, housing, public safety and infrastructure.
Other runoff winners included Kevin Burns and Pierre Fratz Charles, who won the City Council’s District 1 and District 4 seats, respectively.
