Miami-Dade Clerk’s Office close to hiring a Chief Auditor

by The 100 Companies

The Miami-Dade County Clerk and Comptroller’s Office is finalizing negotiations with an unnamed person who will be the county’s first Chief Auditor.

“The job, it’s going to basically be auditing different county Departments,” Clerk Juan Fernandez-Barquin told Florida Politics. “Wherever county funds go, we’ll be able to take a look and make sure they’re being used to their fullest potential.”

A summary of the job says the Chief Auditor will lead a roughly 30-person staff and, among other things, audit the operations and finances of Miami-Dade, its Departments, companies that do business with the county and the Clerk’s Office itself.
