Ex-Escambia County Commissioner Gene Valentino is running for Congress with Miami MMA star Jorge “Gamebred” Masvidal in his corner.
Masvidal, who holds the UFC record for fastest knockout, said that of 16 candidates running to succeed Matt Gaetz’s in Florida’s 1st Congressional District, Valentino “has the determination, grit and heart” the job needs.
“I know what it takes to stand up and win battles that matter,” Masvidal said. “Gene has proven he’s ready to fight.”
Nine other Republicans, including Jimmy Patronis and Joel Rudman, are running in CD 1.
Masvidal previously backed Ron DeSantis for Governor and Donald Trump for President.
