Coral Gables just confirmed its third City Manager in under a year.
On a 3-2 vote reflective of Coral Gables’ internal division, the City Commission appointed Alberto Parjus as City Manager.
Parjus previously served as Assistant and Deputy City Manager. He succeeds Amos Rojas Jr.
Rojas has been City Manager since last February, when Commissioners Melissa Castro, Ariel Fernandez and Kirk Menendez fired his predecessor, Peter Iglesias.
The trio elevated Parjus this month. Mayor Vince Lago and Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson voted “no,” advocating instead for a national candidate search.
Menendez is challenging Lago in the city’s April 8 election.
