Less than two years after becoming special agent in charge of the FBI’s Miami office, Jeffrey Veltri is out of a job.
He was among roughly a dozen top agents who, as part of President Donald Trump’s governmental purge, were told to resign, retire or be fired.
Veltri stepped down, sources told the Miami Herald.
Veltri, 50, is a registered Independent Party member. He took over the Miami office in March 2023, 20 years after joining the FBI and seven months after federal agents raided Mar-a-Lago.
Justin Fleck, an 18-year FBI veteran, is the new acting special agent in charge.
