Free county microtransit program expands into South Miami

by The 100 Companies

A free microtransit program that has operated across Miami-Dade for years is expanding into South Miami to offer door-to-door and transit-connecting services to residents and visitors alike.

MetroConnect launches in South Miami Feb. 27, fulfilling a need previously served by Freebee.

The app-based service, powered by Via, will offer two types of trips. One will run daily trips to and from the two Dadeland Metrorail stations. The other will operate in South Miami from noon to 11 p.m. Thursday to Saturday and from noon to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.

Riders without smartphones and disabled users will also be accommodated.
