A Miami Beach plumber is facing attempted murder charges after shooting 17 bullets at men he mistook for Palestinians.

They victims were actually a vacationing Israeli father and son, the Miami Herald reported.

Both survived with minor injuries.

Mordechai Brafman, 27, remains in detention at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami. His lawyer said his client was suffering a “severe mental health crisis” when he fired at the men.

Miami Beach Commissioner Alex Fernandez urged Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle to pursue hate crime charges against Brafman. The Council on American-Islamic Relations’ Florida chapter demanded the same.
