Carlos Giménez questions Pete Hegseth’s pause on Russian cyber surveillance

by katem

Carlos Giménez disapproves of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s decision to pause America’s offensive cyber efforts against Russia during Ukraine peace deal talks.

I don’t know why he’s doing that. The Russians are attacking us every single day,” he said during an interview on Varney and Co. “I don’t think you should signal to the Russians that, hey, we’re going to unilaterally withdraw from this space.”

Giménez said America must be forceful when it is dealing with Vladimir Putin’s government.

“We cannot show weakness,” he said. “Peace through strength, and that’s the only thing the Russians and, frankly, the Chinese understand.”
