Voters in Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County’s third-most populous city, picked a new Mayor and kept a sitting Commissioner in its recent election.
Rebecca Shelton secured 56% of the vote to beat three opponents for Mayor. In District 3, incumbent Commissioner Thomas Turkin took 58% of the vote to repel a lone challenger.
Shelton, a real estate broker with no party affiliation, and Turkin, a Republican veterinarian and real estate agent who serves in the U.S. Navy’s construction battalion, were the top fundraisers in their contests.
Twelve municipalities in the county held elections this month. View the results here.
