An organization of young conservatives from Florida’s most famous city is backing U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds’ gubernatorial bid.
Miami Young Republicans, self-described as comprising the city’s “next-gen business and political leaders,” endorsed Donalds in the 2026 Governor’s race.
The group cited his support of school choice and parental empowerment, anti-abortion views and environmental stewardship as key to earning its support.
Donalds thanked the group on X.
“From Tea Party activist, to State Legislator, and member of Congress to candidate for Governor,” he wrote, “I’ve remained steadfast in my conservative values.”
Internal polling shows Donalds is the presumptive GOP front-runner.
