Two Miami-Dade municipalities, Coral Gables and Miami Shores Village, have elections Tuesday. Only the former is especially competitive.

In Coral Gables, Mayor Vince Lago faces Kirk Menendez, a sitting City Commissioner, and accountant Michael Anthony Abbott, who sued the city over his 2020 arrest.

Richard Lara, Claudia Miro and Thomas Wells are competing to replace Menendez, while Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson hopes to repel challengers Laureno Cancio and Felix Pardo.

In Miami Shores, candidates Neil Cantor, Jerome Charles and Patrick Devaney are each guaranteed Village Council seats. Voters will decide which two get four-year terms and which gets two years.
