Miami Commissioner Joe Carollo notched another legal win this week, when the Broward State Attorney’s Office (SAO) ended a probe into whether he stalked a local businessman and threatened an ex-Police Chief.
The SAO said it couldn’t prove Carollo acted criminally toward nightclub owner Bill Fuller and former Chief Art Acevedo. Fuller and his business partner won a $63 million civil suit against Carollo in 2023. Acevedo has a lawsuit ongoing against him.
The dropped case comes eight months after judges rejected efforts to remove Carollo from the 2024 ballot and ruled Carollo’s wages couldn’t be garnished to cover Fuller’s damages.
