A runoff Tuesday for the Coral Gables Commission’s Group 3 seat will decide which of two alliances at City Hall control its future for the next two years.
Voters will choose between lawyers Richard Lara and Tom Wells after neither received enough votes to win outright in the city’s General Election earlier this month.
Lara is aligned with Mayor Vince Lago, who won re-election April 8 alongside Vice Mayor Rhonda Anderson.
Since 2023, Lago and Anderson have been on the losing side of pivotal votes as ex-Group 3 Commissioner Kirk Menendez sided with Lago foes Melissa Castro and Ariel Fernandez.
