Democratic Sen. Shevrin Jones is hosting a Miami Gardens town hall, focused on empowering Black voters and advancing social justice.

The May 31 event, “The People’s Meetup,” will feature U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett and civil rights lawyer Ben Crump. It’ll also include partners like Black Votes Matter, the NAACP and Equality Florida, which is kicking off a statewide tour next month.

Jones, known for grassroots advocacy and voter engagement, said the 11 a.m. gathering at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church will foster “real, honest conversations” about the “State of Black America” and strategies for building lasting political power.
